Charly and Margaux "Rolling In The Deep" (Violin and Viola SMASH-Up)

Six people disliked this video on youtube. I can't help but to think those people are haters or classically trained violinist critical of everything. Well, I'm thinking they're just haters. Ha! Charly and Margaux do their thing with Adele's Rolling In the Deep. Plus check out their Beyonce 1+1 cover below. They're both very talented and trained and have an amazing ear (ears collectively). Get cultured. Enjoy.

Download ... The White Russian - "On The Rocks" (Beat Tape)

Here are some more instrumentals you can put a couple of bars on. Haha. Thanks for the folks at UniFi Records for this.

The WhiteRussian
When one thinks of hip-hop production, Moscow is ordinarily not the first place which springs to mind. Nevertheless, from behind the once mighty Iron Curtain comes Dmitriy Pochtarev (aka Dima "The White Russian"), a young man who stepped out of Moscow and into the Golden Era of hip-hop circa 1994. Having absorbed the sample-heavy production styles of hip-hop's heyday, it was not until the turn of the millennium that Dima discovered his own knack for creating compelling beats from diverse source material. After a number of years spent honing his craft, Dima founded Uni-Fi Records out of Milwaukee and provided a fertile environment for musicians of all kinds to work on their music. After pairing up with KingHellBastard and handling production for their sophomore release "Cups & Bottles", Dima acquired the moniker White Russian as a fitting complement to his heritage and the alcohol-fueled sessions which gave birth to the album. With that record under his belt, The White Russian has gone on to produce, record and engineer songs for artist both local (House of M, KHB, Malicious, DNA, Dana Coppafeel), and nationally known (Sadat X, Akrobatik, Raashan Ahmad, Stricklin of EMC), all the while continuing to operate the ever-expanding Uni-Fi Records and further his skills as a producer (2nd Place in 2009 Milwaukee Beatdown). With an ear for unique samples and classic hip-hop beats, The White Russian is a producer with a sonic palette as vast as his homeland.

BEAT TAPES: maticulous "mello instros" x Rufio "Rappers Jst Rap Onit"

I was just on a rant about beats on twitter. Far too many up and coming rappers grab industry beats over fresh original joints. Stop that. Sure, it's cool every now and again but hearing fifty-leven rappers rhyme over Otis, A Milli, Power, Marvin's Room, et al gets annoying really quick. How about a little bit of originality? Listening to these fresh original beat tapes is a great resource for emcees and a cool place to just enjoy quality music for casual music lovers. Enjoy mello instros from maticulous and Rufio's Rappers Jst Rap Onit. The more I hear from these two guys, the more I'm becoming a fan. Dope. Don't be afraid of beat tapes from unknown producers. Consequence "Mr.RapFix (Hot Water)" (Produced & Cuts by Audible Doctor)

Sure, I give Con a lot of shit on twitter for artwork and sometimes poorly produced videos. That doesn't mean I don't like the dude's music. It means he should do better. In a time when lesser known acts are putting together quality artwork and high end videos, we expect more from Consequence. Shit, at least I do. TMB Presents: Mark V "Season Change" (A Beat Tape)

If you're on twitter and you make music, whether you're a producer or emcee, and you aren't using it to network then you aren't using it right. But who am I to tell you how to use social networking. However, I've watched some amazing collabs come together via twitter and TMB has also connected with some very talented folks via the network to present some projects.

That leads us to our latest collaboration with Wisconsin producer Mark V. The beat maker out of Racine has been making beats for about seven years on and off again. He's coming off a two year hiatus and a Miltown Beat Down feature and linked up with us for a project we're calling Season Change. You know, it's August and we're quickly approaching the end of summer and the beginning of fall. Mark V. flips some soulful samples and creates the perfect backdrop for the transition from the warm weather of Summer and cool breeze of Fall.

It was an idea that we both built on and I'm happy to finally present it to our readers. Mark V. is a talented dude. Give this joint a listen and enjoy. Peep the project and a quick Q&A after the jump. Chea!

Ashford & Simpson "Gimme Something Real"

Ashford & Simpson, together were the greatest songwriting duo in American music. We were probably conceived to a song they sung and/or wrote. Yesterday Nick Ashford passed at 70.Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. His impact on music will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Ashford.
