NEW RELEASE: maticulous "The Confluence EP"

New maticulous, you can't go wrong with that. Check out his latest offering The Confluence EP. Enjoy. Chea!
With his aptly named follow up project, the Brooklyn-based beatmaker by way of Pittsburgh comes together with an assemblage of his hometown emcees to bring you The Confluence EP. While the direction of the project keeps a traditional hip hop feel, rooted in boom-bap and soul, maticulous keeps it fresh providing a classic vehicle to drive this new wave of old school out of The Steel City.

@KirbyLauryen's A Song A Day: Day 271 & 272

Two hundred and seventy two days later and I still love Kirby's voice. It hasn't gotten old to me. Not even a little bit. I look forward to watching her grow both vocally and lyrically each day. She does both again with days 271 and 272 of her A Song A Day Series. Two incredible songs. Enjoy the music.

Sha Stimuli "Put The Mic Down"

"Honesty don't make a hater ..."

The homie Sha Stimuli delivers up some truths on Put Down the Mic from the 9th installment of his The Rent Tape Series The 9.2.5. Enjoy.
How do you get to a place where you wake up and do what you love to get paid? Sha Stimuli asks and answers that question on the 9th release in The Rent Tape Series entitled The 9.2.5.

This EP picks up somewhere around the place that The Chills left off. It is an ode to, a reflection on, and a musical backdrop describing the admitted fear of having a job.

SiViL hit me up wanting to check out his new single he's released and I finally got a chance to take a listen. I think the homie has a very unique sound on his hands. Took me a few listens but overall I can say I dig it. Yani Mo is a very good component to this track as well. This should be one of many good tracks off his "Perfection Is A Theory" he'll be releasing in the future.

What I'm Watching: STANZA "Breathing's Beauty"

STANZA really delivers both a dope video and track with Breathing's Beauty. I'm really digging it. Enjoy both.
Love. It's an easy term to utter but understanding it is another thing altogether. I've come to believe young love is one of the Universe's ways of testing to see if it's inhabitants have the compacity to simply exist together. Having said that, I've never known or understood true love until my boys were born. I've got fraternal twins who came at a time when the wheels on my dream had just begun to roll. Going from, "what am I gonna eat" to "they're hungry and need to be fed" is subtle in speech yet so extremly deep in meaning that it set my entire life and belief system awry. I went from furious job searching and song writing, trying to quickly prepare some kind of nest egg, to just wanting to throw the towel in and let the ref count me out. I've held these emotion so close to my chest that they began to stifle my creativity. That is, until I decided to put them in to a song. "Breathing's Beauty" .

With Love,
STANZA

The album will include guest appearances from Thurz, Rich Kidd, D-Sisive, DaxFlow and others. As for the production, it will be handled by MMac, Rich Kidd, Junia T, and Royce Birth. Introducing @NiaKeturah

"Baby, I'm just trying to add more continents to my photomap."

I enjoy the discovery of new music. Not that it was hard to stumble across Nia Keturah's new project, considering the Maryland representative sent it to me via email. But, as many folks with a music submission inbox knows, hitting play on an aspiring and unknown artist is often difficult. It's all about taking the chance on music from a person you've never heard of and not feeling like you've wasted your time in the first 30 seconds.

As I often do, I opted to hit play and listen to The Missed Education of Denise Huxtable from Nia, who calls herself the typical college kid, until she dropped out and decided to make a mixtape about it. With production from John Lass, Jinesis, Savvy Society and Sango Beats, she really lays out a story. I dig it. Below is one of my favorite cuts. And if you dig it too, dig in to it and enjoy the rest of MEDH.

As you may recall, we teamed up with the NYC based and TMB affiliated producer last year on his Otis Redding sampled project Otisis. Now we're rehashing it and adding some up and coming emcees to the mix.

Dremur has been on a bit of a musical hiatus, and after hearing some of his new unreleased material, Jin and I thought he'd be a perfect fit. And it works. Look for more from Dremur coming soon, as well as more from Otisis EP Remixed. In the meantime, enjoy the music. Chea!

Interview: Miss Special x Ro Blvd

Miss Special delivers again with another fresh interview. If you aren't familiar with Ro Blvd, this interview will both get you familiar and hyped to listen to his music. Enjoy.
When it comes to hip-hop, producers tend to be the amazing visionaries; everything they create has a great vision behind it, which in turn gives them the ability to subtly change many things about hip-hop. A great example of this is Los Angeles producer, Ro Blvd. After his latest release "Heart Pounding Panic", Ro Blvd calls in to Special Sundays Radio Show to talk with Miss Special. He speaks on his newest project and newest ventures with his company Paperose Imagination, his history with music and wanting to change the musical standards, amongst many more topics. Bitches Is Crazy "Get It"

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it, I fux with Bitches Is Crazy. With a wildly inappropriate name and a gang of not giving a fuck music, I dig what the New York collective does. Yesterday, they released the Chuk produced Get It. Another solid joint. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!
