Friday's Five Random Questions with @RockyRivera

I listen to a lot of music each week. Not too often can I just sit down and enjoy a project from front to back without interruption. This past Friday while journeying from Upstate to Downstate NY, I hit play on Rocky Rivera's latest offering, Pop Killer.

The replay factor in today's music is important. Pop Killer has that replay factor through the roof. I played the mixtape over a dozen times in the last week since first downloading it. Rocky Rivera is dope.

Anyway, she decided to take the challenge this week. See how she answered Five Random Questions after the jump. Chea!

Hometown: San Francisco, CACurrent City: City of Lost Angels
How long have you been doing music: performing since a kid, professionally since 2008
Discography: Married to the Hustle Mixtape (2009), Rocky Rivera (2010), Pop Killer Mixtape (2011)
Label: Beatrock Music
Describe your music in five words or less: Guerilla-wit-a-U-Music

ThroatChop: Okay, first question what TV character (past or present) would you be and why?

Rocky: Gemma Teller on Sons of Anarchy. She's the boss lady, the matriarch, and the glue that holds her gang together. She shows the complexity of being a woman in a man's world - our influence, our true power, our perceived "roles", and how loyalty has to be the bottom line of every relationship and transaction.

ThroatChop:You're leaving the house for a month. What three things do you have to bring with you and why?

Rocky: My iPhone, my birth control pills, and my weed stash. Cuz, hey, I gotta stay busy.

ThroatChop: (Laughs). Ok. So, what's the most embarrassing cd you ever purchased?

Rocky: Shit. An N'Sync Christmas album for my sister.

ThroatChop: As a kid, what did you think you would be when you got older? Oh and you can't say musician.

Rocky: I wanted to be a dentist! I had my front teeth pulled out early cuz of that third world swag and wanted to help toothless kids just like me ;) That dream was deaded quick.

ThroatChop:Okay, last question. You walk in the studio for a session and find out Jesus (yes, that Jesus) and Kanye West are producing the track for you. What's the first line of your verse?

Rocky: Jesus Christ had dreads, so shake 'em.
